Old-fashioned Never Looked So Good

When Robin and Chris decided to open Stepback, no one was surprised. Chris, a drum and percussion tech for touring musicians (including Dido, Radiohead, and Avril Lavigne) and Robin, a graduate architect, grew up with collecting; it's in their blood.

Both the Switzer family and the Muxlow parents spent countless weekends antique-hunting when Chris and Robin were youngsters growing up in Chilliwack, BC. The two learned early how to scour garage sales and flea markets around the countryside for deals, valuables, and oddities too good to pass up.

It seemed only natural for Robin and Chris, themselves infected with the collecting bug, to follow in their parents' footsteps, and to go even further by opening a store to share it all.

Many of Chris and Robin's vintage and antique products come from private collections and relatives, as well as their very own hoard of treasures.

And it's still a family affair. Chris' parents, along with their grandson, Chris' nephew, build and fulfill all of the custom furniture orders for the store.
